Brief
Curtin Industry Exchange was looking for a solution to connect industry partners with the approriate staff members for collaborating on projects which require deep industry expertise.
Problem
Curtin University prides itself on industry engagement, turning research into real world results. But when a corporate stakeholder looks to engage with Curtin, it can be confusing to get started as information is spread across various Curtin portals and schools. Curtin Industry exchange was looking for an easy way to direct corporate stakeholders to the right Curtin resources and engaged AI Advancements for a solution.
Solution

We created an AI search agent which understood the different schools across Curtin and had access to each of their staff profiles. The AI was able to understand basic information about each staff member, aswell as an overview of their career history, research interests, publications, awards and more.
Our AI goes beyond a basic keyword search, understanding the intent behind a user's query to find an approriate match. By using an agentic system for search, we enable the AI to quickly respond to easier questions while still having the ability to search for longer for difficult queries.
Result
Corporate stakeholders are now able to search for Curtin industry experts using plain english and recieve a recommended school and a list of suggested staff members to engage. Unlike a traditional search, results are personalised to the user's query, outputting a list of recommended staff with a personalised explanation for why they are an approriate choice. Curtins AI concierge now serves as an easy entry point for any corporate interests looking to engage with Curtin University.
