Brief
Teachers are swamped by admin and paperwork which takes away from time with students. Going into the 2025 report season, Hampton Park Primary School were looking for a solution to free up teacher time and unburden them from adminstrative work.
Problem
Staff at Hampton Park Primary School had been using ChatGPT to help them with their lesson plans and report writing, but staff had not recieved any training and were unsure of how ChatGPT works and what was a suitable use case. The staff wanted to use ChatGPT to help them generate educational content, but were unsure how to do this in a way that matched their style while aligning with Western Australian curriculum.
Solution
We ran a 50 person workshop for the entire Hampton Park staff as part of their professional development day. AI Advancements customised our ChatGPT training workshop to include education related examples, such as generating a worksheet with AI and creating educational videos to keep students engaged.
Staff got to see live examples of all ChatGPT features such as Deep Research, Projects and Computer Use and learnt how to customise ChatGPT to understand the age group and subjects each teacher is responsible for.
We also demonstrated a wide range of other AI tools, such as Elevenlabs, Suno and Loveable, to give the staff further ideas on how they can incorporate AI into the classroom.
Result
The staff at Hampton Park were super engaged with the session, completing multiple education related challenges within the session. Participants left with a strong understanding of everything ChatGPT can do, a clear idea of how to customise and extend ChatGPT, and knowledge of a variety of other AI tools which can be used in an classroom setting to drive student engagement and reduce teacher workload.
